Holiday shopping continues to be a source of immense stress for many. The options are endless, and the budgets increasingly limited.
The ever-growing contingent of online shoppers, however, consistently manages to get the most out of their shrinking pockets. Internet savvy parents, in particular, are able to unearth true finds, allowing them to appease their children’s’ increasingly distinct tastes (without having to break bank).
A leading item on many a college freshman’s wish list are the dependable mini freezers. Given the many different mini fridges presently on the market, choosing the right size (and price!) can be a little trickier than previously anticipated.
The mini fridge comes in a number of configurations, and an average purchase would then vary as to the requirements of respective individuals. Potential buyers can opt for a host of minis, zeroing in on either small, cube-like models of yore, or the more recent combo (fridge + freezer) units with enhanced capacity, and advanced features. Dorm convention usually dictates that mini fridges would primarily be used for storing drinks, and other small batch food items. Intuitive shoppers, however, realize that a present unit can easily graduate to meet post-college needs if made to include a separate freezer compartment for greater cooling and more space.
Mini fridges can be modified for other, unanticipated, uses provided that purchases are a result of informed decisions. Typical college undergrads take frequent cross-country trips in between semesters, and would thus benefit from owning a lighter, portable refrigeration unit than a mid-sized monstrosity that goes unused for longer periods. However, easy-to-lug mini fridges are mostly thermoelectric in nature and would not do well when made to work at full capacity. An ideal purchase should also be made in to factor what is (and is not) allowed as per various dorm room regulations in terms of unit size, shape, and energy specifics.
Interested customers can easily find all types of mini fridges and coolers online. Refurbished, and vintage units, though hard to come by generally, can be procured in a similarly effortless manner if users run a quick local search through various online yellow pages. Ebay, Craigslist, and amazon all offer superior deals for the perceptive buyer.
